Dear Synagogue Leaders, We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Keren R. McGinity, Director of Intermarriage Engagement and Inclusion, for four and a half years of dedicated service as our interfaith inclusion expert, before her position concludes on June 30, 2025. Keren has been an exceptional asset in fostering interfaith inclusion throughout our synagogues and the wider Conservative/Masorti community. Her development of essential resources, participation in the Movement-wide Intermarriage Working Group, facilitation of impactful Rimonim for Rabbis cohorts, and countless consultations with synagogue leaders have made a profound difference. We are immensely thankful for her unwavering commitment and the positive energy she brought to our community. Keren will truly be missed! USCJ and our partners remain committed to engaging intermarrying couples and their families. The Intermarriage Working Group (IWG), convened by USCJ, the Rabbinical Assembly, and the Cantors Assembly, has completed an extensive feedback gathering process and is now developing recommendations for the next steps. We will next be focusing on initiatives determined by the IWG that require a different staff structure for the work. We look forward to sharing more details this summer. Meanwhile, we wish Dr. McGinity the absolute best in her future endeavors. L’Shalom, Rabbi Jacob Blumenthal |
