GET READY FOR AN INTERACTIVE CONVERSATION!
Topic: Membership Recruitment & Outreach
June 18 – 11:00am PDT// 12:00pm MDT// 1:00pm CDT// 2:00pm EDT
Affinity group gathering and participatory discussion forum for LAY LEADERS involved in membership/engagement at their congregations.
This is a space-limited, interactive discussion. There will not be a frontal presentation. Please come prepared to share what takes place at your own congregation and with questions for others.
The conversation may include:
- “What feels most challenging about recruitment and outreach right now?”
- “Where are you seeing the biggest drop-off—initial interest, follow-up, conversion to membership, or retention?”
- “How has the broader environment (post-pandemic shifts, cost sensitivity, changing affiliation trends) impacted your efforts?”
- “Where do you see untapped opportunities for outreach?”
- “What outreach strategies have led to meaningful new member connections?”
- “What does an effective ‘first touchpoint’ look like in your community?”
- “How do you create a sense of belonging before someone officially joins?”
- “What role does storytelling (about your synagogue’s impact or community) play in your outreach?”
- “What does effective partnership between professionals and lay leaders look like in recruitment?”
What else do you want to learn from one another?
The session is scheduled for 60 minutes and will not be recorded. There are 30 participant spots available on a first come-first served basis and a waiting list will open once those spots are filled. This will be the final affinity group gathering of the 2025-2026 fiscal year, before a summer break.
