SULAM FOR OFFICERS
If your kehilla consistently struggles with the time, funds or ability to travel to the East Coast for the highly regarded Sulam for Presidents training each spring, do not fear. The USCJ has heard your concerns and is offering a new, intensive, skill-building workshop for any officers of Western kehillot based on that successful model, from January 22-23, 2017 at the Brandeis Bardin Campus of AJU in Simi Valley, CA.
This dynamic, compact, pilot, leadership opportunity is for congregational officers who hold a variety of portfolios in kehillot across the Western US and Western Canada. The conference will take place in California over the course of two days, rather than the four of Sulam for Presidents, and the content-rich workshops will cover topics related to leadership, lay-staff relations, membership, financial resource development and more. USCJ Faculty, Bob Leventhal, Barry Mael and Nadine Kochavi will guide participants through interactive discussions and important learning sessions, while allowing the cohort to gel into a group of leaders who will strengthen their own roles and become supportive of one another.
The registration fee includes all workshops and meals during conference, along with one night's lodging at the Brandeis Bardin Campus. Information about travel to/from Burbank Airport or Los Angeles International Airport will be forthcoming. A sample schedule follows.
