For some of you, Mazel Tov on hiring your new rabbi is in order. For others, the search process is nearing the end, and for some, it continues. Wherever you are exactly, you may have already realized that this holy work does not end with the signing of the contract. Now that the applications, interviews, endless meetings and conference calls, negotiations, and terms are winding down, the real work begins.
The next steps are now focused on onboarding, which includes a successful transition and change management process. Daniel Langenthal, USCJ Director of Leadership Development, and Mindy Block Gordon, USCJ Director of Professional Clergy Search & Services, will discuss shifting the focus from the rabbinic search process to a transition process. We will talk about the practical steps that start with creating a transition committee that focuses on welcoming and onboarding the new rabbi and we will discuss how leadership can support your community with feelings that arise in this time of great change.
