Affinity group gathering and participatory discussion forum for LAY LEADERS involved in membership/engagement at their congregations.
This is a space-limited, interactive discussion.There will not be a frontal presentation. Please come prepared to share what takes place at your own congregation and with questions for others. The conversation may include:
- What role do volunteers play in helping members feel connected and valued?
- What does effective engagement look like from a volunteer perspective?
- What role can and should volunteers play in attracting new members?
- What feels comfortable—or uncomfortable—about recruitment?
- What challenges do you face in fulfilling your role in engagement and recruitment?
- What gets in the way of being as effective as you’d like?
- What feels most challenging about carrying this responsibility without dedicated staff?
- What challenges arise in partnering with staff or clergy?
- How could the volunteer role in membership & recruitment be strengthened or better supported?
- What advice would you offer other volunteers doing engagement work for their synagogues?
What else would you like to learn from others or share?
The gathering is scheduled for 60 minutes and will not be recorded. There are 30 participant spots available on a first come-first served basis and a waiting list will open once those spots are filled.
