GET READY FOR AN INTERACTIVE CONVERSATION for LAY LEADERS!
Topic: Engaging Young Adults and Post-B'nai Mitzvah Families
December 18 – 11:00am PST// 12:00pm MST// 1:00pm CST// 2:00pm EST
Affinity group gathering and participatory discussion forum for LAY LEADERS involved in membership/engagement at their congregations.
This is a space-limited, interactive discussion. There will not be a frontal presentation. Please come prepared to share what takes place at your own congregation and with questions for others. The conversation may include:
- How would you describe the current level of engagement among post–B’nai Mitzvah families and young adults in your community?
- What does success in this area look like for your congregation?
- What are some of the unique needs, interests, or challenges of young adults and post–B’nai Mitzvah families today?
- How do you learn what matters to them—formally (surveys, conversations) or informally (relationships, social media, word of mouth)?
- What’s something your synagogue has tried to engage these groups that worked well? What made it successful?
- What have you tried that didn’t work as planned, and what did you learn from it?
- Are there programs or partnerships (e.g., with local JCCs, camps, or regional groups) that have been effective in sustaining engagement?
- What’s one small change or experiment you could try in the next few months to build on today’s conversation?
The session is scheduled for 60 minutes and will not be recorded. There are 30 participant spots available on a first come-first served basis and a waiting list will open once those spots are filled.
